A Mexican Christmas

2017 was many things -- most recently, it was the year we began a new tradition--a Mexican Christmas.

An early Christmas morning flight to Baja followed by endless days of sun, surf, and yoga on the beach.  Meals of fish tacos and guacamole, where our favorite dining table was a surfboard at the shore.

Vendors on the beaches sold their wares--gorgeous hand woven straw hats, silver bangles mingled with turquoise & lapis; strings of rosary beads that brought those we love and miss so near to us, in thought.

Our local, new friends--Emmanuel, Salvadore, Augustine & Jay to name a few--treated us with kindness and a graciousness that left us feeling even more apologetic about the comments of fellow Americans we came across in their "Make American Great Again" red trucker hats.   'We aren't with them' in every way, was our message.

Our motto was 'let's make some good memories".  I think we hit the mark and overshot it by yards.
