About

I am innovation-focused and create sustainable
solutions with integrity, building brands and products that inspire.

Domestic, circular, sustainable, equitable, natural, value-based, regenerative”—my goal is to push these topics to the forefront everyday.

Beth Miles is a designer, brand strategist, and entrepreneur but, above all, a master craftsperson and artist. Beth combines the worlds of industrial design, art, apparel design, and interiors in her work with leather, fabrics, and hardscapes.

Starting her design career on 7th Avenue, and spending a decade working for large brands like Ralph Lauren and Esprit, Beth leapt in 2005 to launch her childrenswear collection, Ses Petites Mains.  Driven by her desire to work closer to the source, Beth strategized the  domestic supply chain that allowed her to scale the bootstrapped brand into international distribution with a thriving loyal consumer base.  Beth sold SPM in 2015.   A serial entrepreneur, in 2020 Beth founded Grange Home an interiors collection focused on upcycled and regenerative materials, bringing renewed attention to enduring vintage forms that are repurposed for their next chapter.

Her design work is a complement to her role as a Sustainabilty consultant, bringing an eye to design and understanding of materials, space and form.  Her work with Rebecca Burgess of Fibershed  helped bring industry best practices to ag producers who raised wool on carbon farm plans funded by Fibershed. Beth helped establish the scaled, end-to-end domestic supply chains and created the Climate Beneficial ™ Fiber Pool digital presence, communications and  branding to increase awareness and engagement of their Climate Beneficial™ fibers.  For Habitat for Humanity, Greater San Francisco, Beth strategized and implemented an Interior Finishes program that employed closed loop, circular thinking to bring enduring, sustainable and beautiful finishes to HGSF’s affordable homeownership program.

The foundation of Beth’s work employs design thinking while forging key relationships through community building and aligning cross-functional stakeholders to the mission at hand. Beth is currently a Senior Consultant for Sapere Consulting where she is excited to increase her impact across a wider swath of organizations. She also serves as the Vice Chair of Women in Design San Francisco, part of the Industrial Design Society of America.

A follower of music, art & just about everything else, Beth loves connecting to culture to find unexpected collaborations that lead to a brand’s extended & authentic reach. In her off hours, she is a long-boarding, surfer mom who believes that personal growth is directly related to her professional success. She applies this principle in the waters of West Marin on many a weekend.

Beth was such an integral part of helping us launch our Climate Beneficial™ program at Mara Hoffman. She is a wonderful sounding board, an ideator and also a great connector.

I worked with Beth within a Marketing/PR function at her company, Ses Petites Mains. She has a very clear vision and understands every component in crafting an incredibly meaningful Brand. Beth has a keen understanding of the Product Design process—the Product Development cycles, and Sourcing & Fabric strategies. Her commitment to working domestically was truly inspiring, in a marketplace where it can be so easy to move everything off-shore. Beth streamlined Ses Petites Mains’ production to make sense in a higher cost model, to ensure their goal of always being a ‘Made in America’ brand. Her eye for Design, commitment to detail, endless energy & creative problem solving skills make Beth a truly unique businesswoman.
